BHADERWAH VALLEY

Bhaderwah (or Bhadarwah) is a town and tehsil in the Doda district of Jammu Division in the State of Jammu and The Bhaderwah valley is located in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, 80 km (50 mi) from Batote. The town is known for its natural and environmental beauty and is popularly called as "Mini Kashmir".Amidst a landscape of lush green meadows, rolling hills, sparkling streams and coniferous forests, Bhaderwah is a mesmerizing tourist destination. 




















































Perched at an altitude of 1613 meters above sea-level, the town is also famous for adventure tourism. One can enjoy skiing in the snow-covered Himalayan hills during winters or have an exciting time paragliding through the meadows during the summer months.  Horse riding through the valley is the best way to enjoy its breathtaking scenery.
Other popular tourist activities are rock climbing, trekking and hiking through the surrounding mountains. The valley is home to a wide range of Himalayan flora and fauna. With a landscape composed of evergreen mountains, deep valleys and meandering streams, the valley is an epitome of beauty.

AKHNOOR FORT

Akhnoor Fort is a popular historical structure of the early 19th century, located 32 km from Jammu. This fort lies on the banks of the Chenab river and represents the history of the Akhnoor Town. According to historians, Akhnoor Fort was constructed on a site that dates back to the Harappan civilisation. A two-storied palace that had been embellished with arches and murals still stands at the site.
There is a lot of history associated with the land occupied by this monument. As per historical records, this fort was built on the ruins of the ancient Archaeological town of Manda, where remains of the Harappan civilisation and the Kushana dynasty have been found by Archaeologists. Due to its historical and cultural significance, it has been deemed a national monument and is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.

BAHU FORT

The Bahu Fort is a historic fort in the city of Jammu,Jammu and Kashmir. Constructed on the banks on Tawi river. The ancient fort is believed to be constructed by Raja Bahulochan around 3,000 years ago.The fort is a religious place, and within its precincts has a temple dedicated to the Hindu Godess Kali. The temple is known locally as the "Bawe Wali Mata temple" The fort is located on a high plateau land overlooking the Tawi River on its rocky left bank with an average elevation of 325m. The forest area that surrounds the fort has been developed into a well laid out park called the "Bagh-e-Bahu", from where a commanding view of the city of Jammu could be seen. The garden attracts a large number of visitors.

 1. BAGH-E-BAHU
    A lush green manicured garden called Bagh-e-Bahu envelopes the fort in its scenic wrap. The terraced garden is full of beautiful fountains, dense tall trees and colorful flowers. Butterflies fluttering from flower to flower and dragon flies dancing away; the Bagh-e-Bahu is a perfect spot for a family picnic or get-together with friends. 

The garden is decorated with aesthetic stone sculptures that fit in perfectly with the green background. An artificial waterfall glistens in the sun and murmurs calming vibrations in the ears of the onlooker. Bagh-e-Bahu makes for the perfect front of such a majestic and royal edifice such as the Bahu Fort.



 2. ACQUARIUM
       Few years back, an acquarium is also made here,and that has become a source of attraction for tourists. The acquarium has large number of beautiful and rare species of fishes.

     
  

SANASAR LAKE

Sanasar lake is about 20 km from patnitop, at
 an altitude of 2,050 metres (6,730 ft), it is the hub for adventure and sport activities in the Jammu region. The area is notable for its scenic views of mountain ranges including the Brammah Massif.

MUBARAK MANDI PALACE

Mubarak mandi palace is located in the heart of the old walled city of jammu and overlooks the tawi river, was the royal residence of the Dogra king until 1925, when Maharaja Hari singh shifted to hari niwas. It is an important historic architecture having more 150 years old history. The architectural style of the palace is a mix of Rajasthani, European and Mughal architecture. The oldest building of the complex dates back to 1824.

The complex is grouped around several courtyards and includes various buildings and palaces like the Darbar Hall Complex, the Pink Palace, Royal Courts buildings, Gol Ghar Complex, Nawa Mahal, Rani Charak Palace, Hawa Mahal, the Toshakhana palace and the Sheesh Mahal. The halls and galleries of the palace were used for official functions and ceremonies.

The Dogra art museum is situated within the ‘Pink Hall’. It has a rich collection containing miniature paintings of various styles of the region. The miniatures belong to the Kangra, jammu and the basohli art schools. But it also has a gold painted bow and arrow of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The pink hall owes its name to the pink plastered walls of the palace section.



























This Palace is declared as Heritage site by the govenment of J&K.This site holds important place in the history of Dogra dynasty. This is the must visit place for the people who love visiting history sites or Heritage sites

NANDINI WILDLIFE SANCTAURY

Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary is a renowned site location located nearly about 28 km away from Jammu city.It has coverage area of about 34 sq. km. This place is must visit for any nature or wildlife lover. The site is inhabited by endangered and rare flora and founa species. This site is mainly a bird sanctuary, known for Pheasant population, blue rock pigeon ,Indian mynah, Chakor, red jungle fowl and many more bird species

PHEASANT

Travellers interested in the bird-watching tour at this sanctuary need to get wildlife tour permits that are provided by the Regional Wildlife Warden in Ramnagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Travellers are recommended to undertake bird-watching here from March to May.

  The wildlife sanctuary also has Mammal species  too. Some of the main species of the sanctuary are:-
        Goral, Leopard, Grey Langur and Rhesus monkey.

VAISHNO DEVI TEMPLE, KATRA

Vaishno Devi Temple is situated in katra, Jammu and Kashmir. It is very famous shrine among the people of india. People from every part of the country comes here for the adventerous trip with friends and family.
This holy shrine has been a huge attraction for tourism in jammu and kashmir for a very long time.




















It is a 14 km long trek on the Trikuta hills, starting from the Katra city to the Bhairo temple


There are two tracks for the treking. The old track that is steep and narrow at some places and other one is the new or the alternate track.

Major places as we reach Bhawan from Katra:-

  1. Ban Ganga


    Ban Ganga is the first major place that comes after starting the trek.People usually stop here to enjoy the water flowing through the ban ganga.

2. Charan Paduka
charan paduka, place where Mata's pious feet are believed to be imprinted on the rock slab


3. Adhkuwari
Almost after 6 km from Katra, the famous womb like holy cave is situated. Adhkuwari temple is one of the most important temple on the trek.

4. Sanjhi chhat

Sanjhi chhat is also one of the main attractions for the tourists,because of it's scenic view.The Helipad is also located at Sanjhi chhat.

5. Bhawan
Bhawan is the main destination of the yatries
6. Bhairo ghaati
  From about 2 km from the Bhawan, Bhairo ghati is situated.

The yatris are provided with all the basic required facilities, during the whole trek.
There are lots of Dhaba's and different shops. There are also room available for the yatris to rest at place to place. Pony's and palkis are also available for the elderly people.Now, electric cars are also bieng made available for the disabled or the old people. 

 Recently, Cable car services are also installed from the Bhawan to the Bhairo ghati at cheap rate

MANSAR LAKE

Mansar lake near Jammu is very adventurous tourist attraction destination in Jammu and Kashmir

PATNITOP

Jammu and kashmir is a very beautiful state of india. People often talk about the beauty of the kashmir valley and overlook the places worth visiting in or near jammu.

 There are lot of religious places and picnic spots and hill stations in jammu where u can plan a family trip or trip with friends.

 When you think of visiting places in jammu it's not just one or two places there are many more places in jammu that are worth visiting. 

     One of the major picnic spots in jammu is Patnitop. Here you can visit in winter if you want to see snowfall and if you want to enjoy the cool and pleasing whether to beat the heat in summer, then u can pay a visit here
